Veteran draft analyst Gil Brandt indicates any quiet plan the Steelers may have had to nab Penn State wide receiver Allen Robinson in the second round may be null and void.
Or, taking the glass half full perspective, maybe this just means the Steelers may be in position to select an excellent athlete at the wide receiver position in the second round by taking the kid just a few hours down the road.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was on hand at Penn State's Pro Day Tuesday, and while it's likely he spoke with a good amount of the players on hand, considering the team's needs, Robinson had to have been a primary target of his.
Robinson is tall, measuring in at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, but there is mixed reviews about his ability to sink his hips into his routes and accelerate out of them. As Brandt reported, though, he just put up some killer individual measurements, suggesting he does have the athletic ability to be a separation-creating receiver in the NFL.
