It was a night to support of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women and the Observatory at Algonquin College played host to three very talented singer/songwriters Meghan Patrick, Robyn Dell'Unto and Amanda Rheaume in the latest installment of their Intimate and Acoustic series.

The trio took turns over the course of the evening playing songs and telling stories. Although the theme of the night was less than happy the three ladies lit up the stage with their personalities, which meshed perfectly with each other.

We heard stories from the road ( a place that Meghan has spent a lot of time lately), stories from inside the studio (Robyn's favourite place in the world) and stories about relationships past and present (Amanda wrote a song for an ex called Dead Horse). As our photographer Dave put it "when you put three obviously like minded musicians on stage, the stories are always going to end up being just a little more personal"

During one powerfully emotional moment, Meghan Patrick spoke to the crowd about abuse. Her message was simple and it was directed to anyone who had ever been, or was in an abusive situation, "it's not your fault, you didn't deserve it". Following which she performed a gripping and emotional version of her single "I Won't Drink".

The trio capped off the night with a joint performance of "Landslide" originally performed by Fleetwood Mac but recently made popular again by the Dixie Chicks.

Special thanks to Algonquin College for having us out and to these wonderful ladies for entertaining us for the evening. If you get the opportunity to see either Robyn, Amanda or Meghan in the coming months don't hesitate they are all equally talented writers and musicians.
