MDA Telethon: The Annual Telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association

By Thepracticalmommy2 @PracticalMommy2
I know it's a bit early to be thinking about Labor Day, but I was reminded of the MDA Telethon this week by a group of friends who will be doing an MDA Walk next month. They have been gathering now for the past few years to support friends of ours whose four year old son has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. They're hoping to come out on top again as the team with the most donations locally. All my best to them! I'll be donating for sure.
Their son is one amazing kid. Even though he is hampered by this disease, he is still a very active little boy who has the love of life. He does get frustrated at times, but he continues to strive to keep his little body going. Through the help of physical therapy, he is able to walk, talk and run--things they never thought he'd be able to accomplish. You should see him go; he gives my son a run for his money! We are very blessed to be able to know such a strong little boy and his strong family.
