Mary J. Blige, Issa Rae, Sterling K. Brown IndieWire Honorees [Pics!]

Mary J. Blige, Issa Rae and Sterling K. Brown were among the Inaugural IndieWire Honorees on Thursday night in L.A.

Insecure co-creator and star, Issa Rae was honored for her work on her hit HBO show, including putting together a mostly all female writing staff.  The honoree looked fab in a black sequin jumpsuit.

Actor, Sterling K. Brown was honored for his work on NBC’s This Is Us.  On that  historical Emmy win:

” I was like, ‘Wow. This is sort of historical.’ It does have this feeling that, to quote ‘Hamilton,’ ‘History has its eyes on you.’”

Our girl, Mary J. Blige worked the carpet wearing a glittering Maria Lucia Hohan pencil dress featuring a thigh-high slit and matching maxi-coat and reptilian pumps.

Mary, who was honored for her starring role in the upcoming Netflix drama, Mudbound was joined by the movie director, Dee Rees on the carpet.
