Macy's Heart of Haiti Holiday Stars

By Verybusymama @verybusymama

Macy's Heart of Haiti Holiday Stars Some years Christmas just sneaks up on me and this year is one of those times.
Besides being big and slow and just wanting to sleep all the time, the show must go on! I have to get Christmas up and running for my boys who are the shining stars in my life.
We adorned our tree, put up decorations around the apartment and this year I included a lovely star from the Macy's Heart of Haiti collection.

I was more than happy to team up with the Heart of Haiti charity, especially since I personally know several bloggers who took a life changing trip to Haiti last year.
There, they were able to see first hand how this initiative is allowing local artists to improve their lives by giving them an opportunity to make a living, feed their families and pay their children's school fees.
This is a collection which features more than 40 home decor items including quilts, metalwork, jewelry and paintings all made almost entirely from recycled and sustainable items such as cardboard, oil drums and old cement bags.
Macy's Heart of Haiti Holiday Stars Purchasing items from Macy's Heart of Haiti is a super easy way to contribute to the Haitian community - which is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Yet it is a nation that is happily embracing entrepreneurship and determined to move past the loses and devastation from the earthquake.
And what about the stars in MY life? For sure Little M and the Mr. brighten up my world.
Especially now being pregnant I am asking more and more of them each day - Little M is learning to dress himself, already goes to the bathroom on his own, sings me "te quiero much mami" songs and 5 out of the 7 nights the Mr. does the cooking to give me a break and so that I can get to bed early.
Now that's what I call SHINING STARS.
Happy weekend and Feliz Navidad to everyone celebrating next week!

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own. #CleverHaiti
