“We got married in spring in Athens. We met online, through OkCupid. After chatting for a week or so, we decided to meet in person and just… clicked. As for the proposal, I knew Ana Paula didn’t want anything public. I looked for rings, then she found one she loved with a stone almost exclusive to Brazil called a Paraiba Tourmaline. Rather than mailing it to us and risking that, we… fibbed a bit and told her mom it was a graduation ring for Ana Paula graduating from her masters. The day her mom arrived, and I got the ring, I popped the question while at home”, Mark shared with us.

“I searched for bouquets online and ordered it from Wildflower after falling in love with the ones I saw on their website. It was an absolutely gorgeous and great smelling wildflower and mini roses bouquet. After our wedding, we picked a few of each flower and sprig variety and spread them among the pages of a notebook to bring a bit of it back home with us”, Ana said to us.

“The tie the knot ritual was our favorite moment for both its symbolism and for it being fun to do”. Bride’s advice: “I recommend going with what both of you feel more comfortable and with what is more meaningful to you. I had this blue dress that I absolutely loved and was keeping for my wedding since I bought it. I was not even looking for a wedding dress when I found it, the idea just came to my mind as soon as I tried it in the store. It just felt right, and I kept it unused until the day we decided to elope in Greece. The vast majority of dresses I saw while looking for inspiration for our wedding was white, of course. But had I got another dress just because of that, I would have regretted the decision. I felt comfortable and beautiful on my blue fluttering dress and am glad we did everything how we wanted to do on our special day”.
