That's right I managed to get myself the 4K Steelbook limited edition for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. This was a little bit of a nightmare when Zavvi put them on sale at midnight of all times so by the time I actually saw the pre-sale email they had sold out. But then over to HMV who still had some available. The release date being Monday 30th November 2020. They arrived (eventually) yesterday after Royal Mail kept teasing me as I originally had an email saying they would be with me on Monday by 3pm!
Anyway they are quite frankly the most beautiful steelbooks or even any DVD/Blu-Ray covers that I have ever seen! You get both the extended editions and theatrical cuts for each film, although the extended editions are still over two discs (only downside). I was lucky enough to see these films at the cinema (twice) in the summer in the 4K and extended on the big screen. Cannot wait to watch them all again and again in 4K format, simply stunning!
