Lord Huron Played to a Sold out Crowd in Seattle [photos]

Indie folk rockers, Lord Huron played a sold out show at the Showbox at the Market in Seattle last Friday night. The show began with a small set-back, as news spread that the highly anticipated openers, Night Beds, was forced to cancel. Fortunately, a Minneapolis 4-piece band called Night Moves filled in as a replacement. Armed with howling guitars and melodic vocals, Night Moves proved to be a wonderful surprise in the end.

Lord Huron began their set with a lively performance of “Ends of the Earth”, a track off of their debut album, Lonesome Dreams. While most commonly known for their folk style, Lord Huron successfully incorporates a light hearted pop component into their sound, which makes for a fun and exciting live performance. Frontman Ben Schneider’s clever use of reverb, both on and off the record, provides fans with an grand experience. Just like listening to a cathedral choir, Schneider’s vocals fill the room with a lovely blend of harmonies and crescendos. The show came to a close with one of the band’s first singles, “The Stranger”.
