Looking for Affordable Minneapolis Tudors? Check out Victory Neighborhood for Great Values, Beautiful Homes, Friendly Neighbors

By Homesmsp @HomesMSP

Love the charming tudors of South Minneapolis but can't find what you are looking for in your price range? Check out the Victory Neighborhood in the northwest corner of Minneapolis... if I didn't tell you that's where the photo below was taken you would likely think it was South Minneapolis.

The Victory Neighborhood is a hidden treasure with streets on and near Victory Memorial Parkway that rival South Minneapolis in beautiful homes at more affordable prices. Plus, the Parkway is part of the same Grand Rounds trail system that includes the Minneapolis lakes and Minnehaha Parkway so the best trails in the city are just steps away.

People often come to the Victory Neighborhood for the value... and stay because they love living there. It's a community of great values, beautiful houses and friendly neighbors.

The neighborhood got its name from Victory Memorial Drive, which is a regal and historic parkway dedicated to Hennepin County soldiers who died in World War I. It is also the dividing line between Robbinsdale and Minneapolis, starting near North Memorial Hospital just north of Lowry Avenue. It is lined with beautiful homes on Xerxes (Minneapolis) and York (Robbinsdale) Avenues all the way to the majestic flagpole memorial where the parkway turns and Victory Memorial Drive continues to the east, connecting with Webber Parkway.

The official Victory Neighborhood itself extends from Dowling on the south to 48th Avenue North, between Newton and Victory Memorial Parkway.

Its business hub is at the corner where Osseo Road joins 44th Avenue North. It includes Victory-44, a gastro-pub that gets rave reviews... a couple other neighborhood restaurants ...several arts offerings... and VINA, the office of the Victory Neighborhood Association. In the summer they have a Farmer's Market outside The Warren, An Artist Habitat.

People who live in the Victory Neighborhood like its easy access to downtown Minneapolis and both Highway 100 and I-94. They enjoy the parks around nearby Crystal Lake in Robbinsdale, and in the summer they enjoy concerts and movie nights on the parkway.

Most of the homes were built in the 1920's and 1930's, and many of the craftsman-style bungalows and tudors have been lovingly cared for over the years... affordable alternatives to similar houses in other parts of the city.
