October is Black History Month.
The exhibition No Colour Bar – Black British Art In Action, described as "an innovative look at Black British cultural identities, heritage and creative voices – and the struggle Black British artists faced to have their voices heard – from the 1960s to the 1990s," is at The Guildhall Art Gallery until the 24th January 2016.

Astronaut Chris Hadfield on how to put on a pair of shoes in space…
I’d take my running shoes and float freely in space, and I’d get myself stable and try with one foot—you end up just sort of bobbing around like balloon that’s tied by a string. It just made me laugh every time. You would never put on a running shoe while riding a unicycle. That’s what it’s like in space.

When Prince Harry attended the WellChild Awards in London, photographers captured a picture of brass shoe tacks making the letter "H" on the soles of his shoes…
What on earth could it mean, d'ya think?
At least the record is set straight on one matter: rumours that he had "L" and "R" on his soles to help him through those hungover mornings are now scotched once and for all. No booze pun intended. Ahem.

And finally, at this week's Conservative party conference, it seems that the image makers have been keen to stage photos of the PM David Cameron striding around with female MP's. And some of the female MP's are far from delighted…
Some female Tory MPs are apparently outraged at being lined up as 'arm candy' to walk alongside Prime Minister David Cameron at this year's party conference… One source even claimed: 'I didn't get into Parliament to be a bit of f***ing arm candy'.
