Lip Favorites for the Month of August

Lip favorites for the month of August

For a month long I had tried on these two brands that’s not too pricey. Now I can state my brand review.

Price ranges:

Cover girl: 450 Php/pc.

Mary Kay: 750 Php/pc.

Which lasts the most?

Cover girl, it has an incredible stay on power. I tried eating and drinking food but color doesn’t come off.

Color ranges:

When I was buying lippies on the counter, I guess cover girl has more colors and they are really different from each kind. As to Marykay, it has choices too but will only get people confused because tones are almost alike. The difference with MaryKay tones are the regular and shimmery ones but generally it has only 5 tones. On the other hand I guess the tones of Marykay are more of a daily use because they aren’t so loud.

Take a look the the swatch on my lips. (Mary Kay, Dusty Rose)

And this is my actual red lip color swatch (Cover girl, Hot passion).

How I wore them?

I would have to say that we should wear red for special occasions only. To keep us looking interesting. We’d want people to look forward to us how we’ll look on occasions and not look like ordinary. Just wear a neutral or pink shades on daily and daytime.

Pinks have lesser color so I swipe them on my lips together with a same color balm. Red has an intense color we don’t want to over do them so I’d advice to just lightly dab the lipstick on your lips.

Always remember to keep your lips moisturized with balm minutes before you apply lipstick because chapped lips look more obvious with lipstick on.

How to achieve matte finish?

I don’t like shiny oily looking lips either so if I have a glossy finish lipstick I’d swipe the lipstick on and press a tissue on your lip.

Wearing lip pencils and a light application of lipstick gives you matte finish with good staying power too. :)

Tip:

If you’re going to wear a color balm just like I’m doing, better choose the same color tone with your lipstick so it won’t contradict but enhance.

Xoxo,

Khristina Carla
