Life's A Drag... Fandom Besties, Canada’s Second Season & TV News Trailblazers!

The 'Drag Race UK' fandom can be like a cesspool of toxic waste, those cretins I have waded out for a true 'Fandom Bestie!' Canada's Drag Race made another 'Pandemic' return with a whole new judging line up and a very 'big' reveal! Season 14 of 'Mother's Race' had us occupied for the first quarter of 2022 with chocolate! TV icon 'Charlene White', she's my 'TV News Trailblazer!'

Life's A Drag... Fandom Besties, Canada’s Second Season & TV News Trailblazers!

Falling down the 'rabbit hole' into a colourful and camp alternative universe, Laura found herself falling for everything 'RuPaul's Drag Race UK' after the debut season dropped in October 2019! Intrigued at first by Ru's UK 'Drag Phenomenon', Laura fell truly, madly, deeply for the cosplaying creativities served up by Northern Ireland's 'Blu Hydrangea!' Oh, Mummy! Laura embarked on her very own 'Cosplay Crusade' after witnessing Blu on the 'UK Race!' Connecting with the humor and nature of the UK version of 'RuPaul's Drag Race', Laura didn't feel the need to delve into those 'US' seasons but in time she would find out the excellence that is 'Jujubee'. Laura discovered 'Jujubee' after she had watched several reruns of the earlier 'debut' US seasons, going onto watch 'Juju' on 'UK Vs The World' as she competed alongside 'Blu Hydrangea!' Laura writes her own love letter to the Ru-Girls of the UK Race and beyond! Her kindness and humility warms my heart to see because we know how toxic the fandom can be!

As yet another Lockdown forced us to 'stay at home', Laura recounted to me that in January 2021 the light in the dark for her was the 'Second Season' of the UK's own Drag Race! Lawrence, Tia, Tayce and Ellie made Laura fall in love with the 'UK Franchise' even more than she had in October 2019! The weekly dose of laughter and light from the queens of 'UK S2' became her saviour! Trying her own hand at singing both Veronica and Tia's hits, proclaiming that her 'Autism' makes her 'intense interests' become understandable to others. I support her because I have the same approach to interests in my life! As the world reopened, Laura served an epic 'jump-split' in from of Lawrence Chaney during an on-stage rendition of 'Bing Bang Bong!' Meeting and greeting at the two 'Adult Panto Tours' that Laura loved, she was able to give the queens their handmade gifts with such a genuine love for RuPaul's own royal children! It's clear to see that Laura has sought solace from the queens, she's a model 'Fandom Bestie!' It's all love!

North of the border things had us looking at a whole new judging panel, where did 'Bowyer-Chapman' and 'McKenzie' run off to? Tell me that! With two more queens, I watched the franchise bring us that 'big reveal' and then some! A whole new class of 'Canadian' queens were welcomed by 'Brooklyn Hytes' with those new judges in for the season, thankfully I paid those coins to watch 'real-time' on WOW+! Pythia served looks with two heads and more, serving 'Non-Binary' everything with a 'Grecian' twist! Eve 6000 came through with the 'Circus Rusical' because we will always live for that 'big reveal', you know that we didn't see it coming! The 'Brat Pack' served us a slice of 'family resemblance' because Kendall Gender, Gia Metric and Synthia Kiss gave us a 'Toronto Sisterhood!' Stephanie Prince entered the 'Werk Room with her 'Jollibee' looking 'Filpino Fast-Food Fantasy!' We ordered everything on the menu! Yes, a bigger ad campaign for Season 3, 'Canada's Drag Race' deserves more! Where's 'Canada Vs The World' at?

Guyanese 'Carnival Queen' and 'Certified Nurse', 'Kimora Amour' served 'ground-breaking' looks on the DR runway! Season 2's first out was 'Beth' with much more to give, it wasn't the best choice to make them 'sashay away!' Not a chance! We said 'Bye Flop' but really what happened to the writing after 'Sorry Not Sorry?!' Snatch Game had us meeting 'La Pusetta' but we knew that 'Icesis Couture' came to shake up the 'Canadian Race' and then some! The new judges didn't really impress me much but the makeover challenge did, they had such a vulnerability but showcased Canada's young spirit with inclusion and boundless love! The female 'Drake' had the 'Roast of Brooklyn Hytes' in the bag, Kendall made it funny! Hold up, 'Océane Aqua Black' had us learning about her journey from the nation of Haiti! Salud! 'Adriana' brought the fire! 'Suki Doll' had us loving her even more regardless, the 'Yoko Ono' Snatch Game didn't have us fazed! 'Gia Metric' served looks and fought for her place in the competition! Step it up, Crave Canada!

Remarkably, Season 14 of RuPaul's Drag Race returned with notably less visible 'COVID' restrictions. Even though 'Mother' kept her distance at times, the love for her legendary children stayed the same 14th time around. 14 queens graced the main stage, one of those queens broke the mold to represent as one of the first 'Heterosexual' contestants. Maddy Morphosis certainly didn't serve 'Butch Queen!' The theme took on some kind of 'Willy Wonka' flex with each queen proclaiming 'It's Chocolate' before they got the chop! Bosco received her 'Golden Ticket!' The UK had our own queen up in the race, Lady Camden represented both 'Mother England' and 'Sacramento, CA!' Shouting 'YEAAAHH!' Oh, that was just 'Deja Skye' impersonating a killer impression of rapper, 'Lil Jon' during the Snatch Game! June Jambalaya sashayed away much too soon! Hailing from the 'Enchanted Island', Alyssa Hunter served us a complete 'La Reina Puertorriqueña' fantasy! For the first quarter of 2022, we were fed and satisfied! 100% we were!

Kornbread 'The Snack' Jeté had me howling with laughter then up in my feelings, this powerhouse had the 'Race' blessed to have such a sweet serving of truth and life represent the Trans Community! Kerri Colby brought her beauty and sensibility to the competition with her own 'JLo' dress off the rack! Ru didn't want a 'Big Pill', no she wanted a 'Willow Pill!' Mouth almighty, Jasmine Kennedie had me cheering for her as she came out as a Trans Woman! Saying it like she meant it, Daya Betty certainly didn't mince her words! Angeria Paris Van Michaels proved that ATL truly produces legends! Getting away with wearing less garments as the weeks passed us by, Jorgeous had us amazed by that 'BODY!' Along with Daya, Orion Story survived her first elimination but much like June, the 'Story' finished much too soon! Concluding with an all singing, all dancing grand finale at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, it was amazing to see a live audience for the crowning! Season 15? Let us digest those 16 weeks of Season 14 first! Yes!

Charlene White is a British Journalist, Presenter and Newreader who stands to be my 'TV News Trailblazer!' Her continued resilience and determination shines through each time that presents 'Loose Women' and the 'ITV News'. As a Grandchild of Windrush arrivals to Britain, White has fronted several groundbreaking features such as 'Charlene White: Empire's Child' and 'Trevor McDonald and Charlene White: Has George Floyd Changed Britain?' Talking of 'Sir Trevor McDonald', I honestly hope that when he passes on the baton within regards to his 'presenting stature' I would love to see Charlene White represent as 'McDonald' has done throughout his career! Each and every time racism, ignorance and stupidness is uttered, White calls it out perfectly with a professional yet direct approach, always leaving an impression. Telling uninformed and backward viewers that 'other channels exist' when such remarks were made when she rocked her natural hair on the news! She looked great as she read the news with poise!

Another 'TV News Trailblazer' for me would have to be Lorraine Kelly! Making her way from regional Scottish news coverage, she found her break on English news during the Lockerbie plane crash. Serving fashion of the time, Kelly would always make her mark with those 'out there' prints and glasses during her early morning TV-AM appearances. After the birth of her daughter, Loraine Kelly was abruptly dismissed from her position but it didn't take long before she made an even bigger TV comeback after that poor choice was made! Becoming the queen of British Morning TV, Lorraine's famous 'what's the point' remark when 'Jennifer Arcuri' failed to admit whether her relations with Boris Johnson were true. Gracing Snatch Game during the first season of 'RuPaul's Drag Race UK' cemented the Scottish presenter as a firm fan of the franchise! Returning for the second season to judge on the main-stage after the 'GMTV' style challenge the queens slayed! Scotch Drag Royalty, Lawrence Chaney outrightly loves Lorraine!
