Kim Jong Un attended a photo-op and concert at Mangyo’ngdae Schoolchildren’s Palace on June 7 (Tuesday) with Korean Children’s Union [KCU] delegates to events marking the KCU’s 70th anniversary.  Also in attendance were Choe Ryong Hae (Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Vice Chairman for Workers’ and Social Organizations, Member of the WPK Political Bureau Presidium [standing committee], Member of the WPK Executive Policy Council and Chairman of the State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission), Ri Il Hwan (Director of the WPK Workers’ and Social Organizations Department) Jon Yong Nam (1st Secretary of the Kim Il Sung Youth League [KISYL]) and other KISYL cadres.

When Jong Un arrived at the photo-op, KCU members greeted him with applause which he “warmly acknowledged…with a broad smile on his face.”  KCU members gave him floral bouquets and Jong Un “warmly congratulated the KCU delegate who are holding in high esteem as eternal sun the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il) who performed undying exploits for the development of the Chuch’e-based children’s movement and stoutly growing up to be juvenile patriots and masters of the youth powerhouse who would should upon themselves the future of Korea.”

After posing for commemorative photos, Kim Jong Un expressed his “conviction that the KCU members who are the pride and hope of Chuch’e Korea would stoutly grow up to be dependable reserves for the building of a socialist power, knowledgeable, moral and healthy while further exalting the honor of the glorious KCU of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il that has developed under their care.”

Kim Jong Un later attended “We Are the Happiest in the World,” a schoolchildren’s performance marking the KCU’s 70th anniversary.  The concert began with “Glory to the Respected Marshal” and included tunes such as “Generalissimo Danced with Us,” “General and Children,” “We are the Happiest in the World” and concluded with “Forward Following Footsteps of Marshal Kim Jong Un.”  According to KCNA, the performers “showed well that the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who ushered in the bright heyday of the Chuch’e-oriented children’s movement and provided the most advantageous socialist system on this land with their noble love for the rising generations and the future are the eternal sun of the three million members of the KCU and that the Marshal who ushers in the bright future of the new generations precisely means the homeland” and “instilled the conviction that future of the KCU members who are stoutly growing up to be dependable pillars of socialist power of Chuch’e under the leadership of Kim Jong Un would be bright.”

After the performance, Jong Un “congratulated the schoolchildren on their successful performance and warmly acknowledged the enthusiastically cheering audience.”
