Hello sweets! Last week I was invited at the new mega store opening of Swatch and the presentation of the new Destinations watch. That’s two birds with one stone.
Swatch chose Brussels as their first Belgian destination to open a mega store. It’s a beautiful 15th century building right against the Grand Place in the middle of the historic center. The interior is a great example if it comes to retail design. Colorful, minimalistic but also playful just like their watches. It’s what they call a ‘gesamt werk’.
Together with the store opening they also introduced the brand new destinations watch from Belgium: Ketje from Brussels! From now on it’s possible to bring home a Swatch destinations watch from every world city. Think about Milan, Paris, London, New York or maybe Hong Kong? Each watch represents some features of their city. For the new watch from Brussels that’s ‘Manneken pis’ - meaning: Little man Pee. A blue watch with a golden Manneken pis and his urine in the belgian colors: black, yellow and red.
I think this is a great and useful souvenir to bring home from a holiday. A collection of destination watches is a lot cooler than the old-time postcards!
You can find this pretty watch at the new Swatch Mega store in Brussels.
