Kathy Griffin’s Neighbor Filed His Own Restraining Order Against Her
Kathy Griffin and her neighbor, KB Home CEO Jeffrey Mezger, are currently embroiled in one of those vicious brawls between neighbors. It’s the kind that makes you want to move out of the neighborhood before the two of them end up on Dateline NBC. Because you don’t really WANT Andrea Canning knocking on your door and asking stupid-ass questions like “how did you feel?” to someone who discovered the bloody corpse of a family member on the kitchen floor.
Kathy recently filed a restraining order against the vulgar Jeffrey, whom she recorded making a sexist and homophobic rant against her and boyfriend Randy Bick during a Sept 16 confrontation over noise. Well, Jeffrey Mezger filed one of his own against Kathy in a Santa Monica court on Wednesday. I don’t know. Referring to Kathy as a “fucking cunt” and a “bald-headed dyke” and threatening “war” and to “bring it on, you bitch” would seem to trump “she pointed a camera at our hot tub” when it comes to who actually deserves a restraining order filed against them.
Jeffrey is saying that Kathy and her boyfriend Randy Bick are violating his and his family’s privacy by pointing recording equipment at their yard. “The grandchildren can’t go in the hot tub! We had to have Mamacita pull the shades down in the east wing!”
“Ms. Griffin (and/or cohabitant Randy Bick) has admitted to making audio (and video) recordings of private conversations on my property over the past 15 months,” Mezger states in his restraining order filing. “In addition, Griffin (and/or Bick) have aimed an outdoor video-recording device at areas including a Jacuzzi where my young grandchildren sometimes play,” he says along with a photo of the specific outdoor camera.
And about the shades…
“We have also been forced to keep the windows that face the Griffin-Bick residence closed with the blinds drawn at all times, to reduce the chance of becoming the unwilling subject of further illegal recordings,” he states.
He summed it up in the filing by saying that Kathy and her dude have “rendered living in our home intolerable.”
There will be a hearing held on the matter next week. In the filing, Jeffrey Mezger’s lawyer claims that he apologized to Kathy in writing for his rant. But they’re also saying that Kathy terrified his grandchildren by siccing the LAPD on them.
“The most recent was when they called police to complain about the noise his 4, 5 and 6 year old grandchildren were making while playing in his pool in the early evening [on Sept. 16]. They were not screaming, they were just playing, with their mother and grandmother supervising. The arrival of police upset the children because they thought they had done something wrong and caused them to be emotional, as well as upsetting the mother and grandmother.
Jeffrey also alleges that Kathy and her live-in have called the cops on his estate “between 7 and 10 times” in the past, and that “the complaints were dismissed with no further action required.”
It should be noted that Kathy shaved her head to support her sister Joyce, who died of cancer on September 14th (which was two days before that recording was made).
Kathy has had her fair share of trauma lately. She lost her sister. She also discovered that implying that you’ll decapitate the president doesn’t go over so well with the American people (or the Secret Service). At this point, she probably wants to move her and Randy to a Unabomber-type shack deep in the woods where people won’t bother them.
