Karbonn today launched K9 Kavach 4G which costs just Rs. 5290. The highlight of this entry level device is that the BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) app has been integrated into it from the firmware level. That is, it comes pre-installed with the BHIM app. And it has a fingerprint sensor to secure the device and various apps installed on it.

Highlights of Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G:

Pre-installed with BHIM App:

Karbonn has partnered with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to integrate the BHIM payment interface in its devices. With the launch of K9 Kavach 4G, it became India's first smartphone brand to integrate BHIM in the firmware of the smartphone.

Fingerprint Sensor:

Besides the BHIM app, the other highlight of K9 Kavach is the security provided by the fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor can be used to lock, unlock the device, provide security during banking transactions. It can also be used to keep certain apps private from the prying eyes.

Specifications:

K9 Kavach 4G is an entry level device. It has 12.7 cm (5") HD IPS display. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 7.0 operating system. It is equipped with 1.25 GHz Quad Core Processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. Out of this 8 GB, almost half is used up by the system and pre-loaded apps. Only about 3.5 GB storage is available for the user. This RAM/ROM combination will support the basic functions of the phone, but won't be enough to support many apps and heavy games. The internal storage is expandable to 32 GB using the microSD card. K9 Kavach 4G is powered by 2300 mAh battery.

It has 5 MP cameras in front and back. Both cameras are supported by flash. Despite being a very budget-friendly smartphone, K9 Kavach 4G is a 4G and VoLTE enabled device. And it has the security and convenience of a fingerprint sensor.
