In 1985, the 37-room Dorset Square Hotel, launched Firmdale Hotels and set a standard for luxury hotels in London. Eight years ago, Firmdale sold the property, but has recently bought it back due to its location and perhaps, a sense of sentimentality.
The hotel is currently closed while renovations are being worked on. Kit Kemp, one of the owners, will be very involved with the hotel's interior design, which will showcase a style closer to their other Firmdale properties.
The property, which will stand as Firmdale's flagship hotel will boast a restaurant, bar, bowling alley, and movie theater. The targeted opening date is in 2013.
