report race

Hello Hynek, well back home, we would like to know something on European, just ended, directly from You that have lived as a protagonist in the front of the row. That technical equipments have you used in the race?
I was racing on my custom Corratec 29er which was "tuned" with Shimano XTR group set, DT Swiss components and Continental tires. From the first race in France (Roc Laissac) I have a very good feeling about the material. The custom made frame by Corratec is very stiff and fast, uphill and downhill also! I also received a 2014 model of DT Swiss 29 "Carbon wheels - very light and responsive, and for the European Championship for the first time I used light version of Continental Race King tires - the RACE SPORT version, to make my bike even lighter and faster!

How was the race, you used particular tactics?
From the start of the race I was being very active, I wanted to reduce the group of riders. I was feeling well and making the quiet peace of the race. On the 45th kilometer was the leading group consisted of me, Lakata, Sauser, Bohme and Litcher. Soon we lost Bohme and after about another 15km Litcher got dropped. We continued until three in the 75 kilometer When Sauser lost the contact. Some time it was just me and Alban, but about 10km to go, Sauser came from behind and was back in the game for the title. Unfortunatelly 4km before the finish line I probably paid for to being active in the beginning of the race, my crises came and I was Not able to react on attack of Sauser and Lakata in last very short, but steep climb and lost the contact.

Oh well…so a good race because you have always been in front, leading, I think you're happy?
Anyway, even though I was a bit disappointed after the race, now I see it as a big success and I am satisfied. The competition was very strong and I did a great race - it is always extremely hard to defend a title and it was very close.

and now? you're focused on what?
Thanks to all - to my team Elettroveneta - Corratec Also all our sponsors and to the Czech national team for support. Now my focus is towards the World Championship in Austria
