If you are watching your diet and concern about what you eat by counting calories, tuna could be one of your best choices. Although I found many controversial article about tuna and its health benefits, among them livingstrong.com was the most convincing one. The choice of decision in choosing the type of fish is yours. Lets put aside the tuna cans and hit the local fish market.

Here is a great recipe of tuna club full of flavor, taste and excitement.

Fresh Tuna:

You can cook your fresh tuna fillet two ways, Broil it in the oven or saute it in the pan.

  • Saute:

             Rub the tuna fillet with a little bit of pepper, turmeric and garlic pure and place it in a hot pan with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil. Add a little bit of capers, Fresh rosemary, bay leafs and moon thin slices of lemon. Saute both side perfectly making sure inside is well cooked. The safe temperature for cooking tuna and sword fish is different that other fish fillets. To keep the taste and moist inside, cook it medium-rare at 125 degrees F or 50 degrees C.

  • Broil:

              Rub the tuna fillet with a little pepper and garlic pure and before wrapping it within an aluminum foil add thinly cut slices of lemon, fresh rosemary, capers and fresh green onions and place it in oven to broil. Keep the safe temperature in mind.

After cooking carefully pull the tuna using a fork and place in a bowl. Add thin slices of fresh green onion and celery. Spark it it with a fresh jalapeno sliced thinly in the mix. mix carefully by adding a touch of extra virgin olive oil and oregano flakes.

Spread:

If mayo is not in your list, mix fresh squeezed lime or lemon juice with extra virgin olive oil, aged balsamic vinaigrette, sweet cranberry extract and black pepper.

Bread:

To keep the calorie down, use three slices of wholewheat wholesome fresh baked bread. But you got to promise you’d skip the bread for . the next meal

Prepare fresh lettuce leafs, quarter inch cut ripe tomato, fresh sprouts and organic leafs of basil.

rub the spread in every slice bread, lettuce, then tuna mix. add tomato, basil and sprouts on top then the next layer. use picks to hold the pieces together and cut in half for easy bite.
