Pimples can appear on any part of the ear like behind the ear, top of the ear and even inside your ear canal. Pimple or acne occurs when there is excess secretion of oil or sebum by the oil glands of the skin. Ear pimples are called ear zits or ear bumps. Medically they are known as sebaceous cysts.

When there is excess production of oil on the skin, it traps the dead skin cells that collect on the surface of the skin and clogs the pores of the skin. This oil also traps bacteria and fungi along with the dead skin cells. As a result, pimple or bump is formed. This may or may not contain pus inside it. Even blood can be present in these pimples, which cause discharge of blood from the ear.

Getting Rid of Pimples Medicinally:

Acne cream:

Ingredients you need:

  • Acne cream that contains 1-105 benzoyl peroxide.

How to Apply on Ears:

Apply this cream on the area where you have pimple and leave it for a while. You can do this two to three times a day. Benzoyl peroxide present in this cream has antiseptic properties and helps in killing the bacteria responsible for causing pimple. Acne creams also help in healing the pimple fast.

Hydrogen peroxide:

Ingredients you need:

  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Cotton swab

How to Apply on Ears:

  • Soak the cotton in hydrogen peroxide and remove the excess of solution in it.
  • Dab the cotton ball on your pimple for a few times.

You can apply it a few times a day. Hydrogen peroxide helps in killing bacteria and also speeds up the process of getting rid of pimples. Hydrogen peroxide has anti-inflammatory as well as anti-bacterial properties.

Neosporin:

Ingredients you need:

  • Neosporin gel

How to Apply on Ears:

  • Apply this gel on the pimple and wait till it gets dry.

Apply it two or three times a day. Neosporin is great for treating the infections caused and also dries up the pimple. This leads to faster healing of pimple.

Oil free cleanser:

Ingredients you need:

  • Oil free soap or cleanser containing salicylic acid
  • Hot water

How to Apply on Ears:

  • Wash the pimple with hot water. You can keep the temperature of the water as high as it is possible for you, but without burning the skin.
  • Next you have to wash the pimple with the cleanser.
  • If you have pimple inside your ear, then use a hot washcloth and a Q-tip to wash the pimple.

Cleanse it this way twice or thrice a day. Salicylic acid that is present in the oil free cleanser is very effective for unclogging he pores and healing the pimple faster.

Rubbing alcohol:

Ingredients you need:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Cotton swab

How to Apply on Ears:

Dip the cotton swab in alcohol and clean your ear and the surrounding areas gently, particularly near the pimple. Clean it this way twice a day. Alcohol is a good antiseptic and helps in preventing spread of infection. Make sure that you do not apply too much pressure on the pimple.

Witch hazel:

Ingredients you need:

  • Witch hazel
  • Cotton ball or swab

How to Apply on Ears:

  • Dip the cotton swab in witch hazel and wring out the extra solution.
  • Apply it gently on the pimple and the area surrounding it.

You can repeat it twice a day. The antimicrobial properties of witch hazel are beneficial for treating infection that caused pimple.

Natural Remedies for Ear Pimples:

Apple cider vinegar:

Soak the cotton ball inside apple cider vinegar and wipe over the pimple. Wait for about two minutes and then wash off with water. You can apply it three to four times a day.

Black tea:

Dip the black tea bag in hot water for a minute, remove the excess water, and place the tea bag on the pimple. You can also place a warm washcloth over the tea bag to provide additional warmth. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes. The tannins in tea and the warmth of hot water help in healing the pimple fast. Hot compress with a washcloth dipped in hot water is also god for healing pimple.

Basil:

Take a handful of basil leaves and crush the leaves to get the juice. Now dip a cotton ball in this juice and apply it on the pimple and the surrounding area. If the pimple is inside the ear, drop a few drops inside the ear. Repeat twice daily.

Garlic:

You need 2 cloves of peeled garlic and 2 tablespoons of mustard or sesame oil. Press the garlic cloves lightly and heat them in oil. Warm it on low heat till the garlic cloves turns black in color. Let it come down to lukewarm temperature and then apply this oil on the pimple. If the pimple is inside the ear, pour a few drops of this oil in the ear. Let it stay inside the ear for about 2 minutes.

Onion:

Cut an onion into half and heat them for a minute. Now wrap cheesecloth around one of the halves and place it on for about ten minutes on the pimple. Onion can kill microbes and also absorb chemicals that are harmful for the skin. So, it can treat pimple as well as prevent reappearance of pimples.

Olive oil:

Warm olive oil and pour a few drops of it inside the ear. You can also apply it on the pimple with a cotton ball. Warm olive oil can dissolve the wax and dirt and open the pores, thus healing the pimple faster.

Tea tree oil:

Take 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil and dilute it with 9 teaspoons of water. Mix well and apply it over the pimple with a cotton ball. This gets you relief from the infection quickly and also heals the pimple faster.
