How To Clean The Face At Night For Clearing Acne, Blackheads and Whiteheads

By Ritujain
If you ask me to give you one solution to all your main skin problems then I would simply suggest Properly Cleansing Your Face at Night.
Yes!! this is where the game changes if you are not careful enough. Clean skin is healthy skin and on the contrary, skin which is not cleansed properly on daily basis develops a number of problems like breakouts, acne, blackheads, whiteheads, clogged pores, large pores and infections.
We all know this but even then sometimes we feel too lazy to follow this simple tip and ignore because it sometimes is really difficult to make a trip to the bathroom just for washing the face. This is when we start inviting bacterial infection which leads to acne.
Here I will share step by step process to do the night time cleansing of the face so that you can get a clean, clear and healthy skin easily.
1. Remove your makeup: First step of a good night-time cleansing routine is to remove every trace of makeup from your face. If you are wearing minimal everyday kind of makeup then makeup removing wipes can do the job for you. However if you are wearing waterproof makeup like water-resistant foundation, concealer, gel eyeliner or mascara then you need something heavy duty to take it off completely because makeup wipes will not be able to take out the makeup residue and excess oil from your pores.
Micellar water does a very good job and is quick in taking off all types of stubborn makeup. Mostly micellar waters are rinse free which means that you need not to wash your face with water if you use a micellar water to take your makeup off. However I suggest you to wash your face with a gentle cleanser after using Micellar water if you have oily skin and skin which is more prone to breakouts and blackheads.
You can also use oils like coconut oil or olive oil to cleanse your face because these oils break your makeup down and make it easier for you to clean your face. However don't forget to go for a second round of cleansing with a foaming cleanser to wash away the excess oil.
There are magic cloths available in the market now a days which need to be damped with water only and then used to wipe off your makeup. Those also are a good product to tryespecially if you do not want to spend on makeup removers every month. These come really handy during travel also.
2. Wash your face: This can be the first step of your cleansing routine when you are not wearing any makeup and simply want to get rid of the dirt, dust and oil from your skin for a clean face. Pick the right cleanser which is according to your skin type. Aloevera , witch hazel. lemon essence are some of the ingredients that you should have in your cleanser if you have oily, acne-prone and blemish prone skin. So many girls ask me that which is the best face wash for oily skin , what to use for acne-prone skin, how to clean acne from skin and I tell them all what I have shared in this post. Salicylic acid is also another important ingredient that helps to minimize acne.
If you have dry skin, then try gentle cleansers which are soap free and haveingredients like sweet almond oil, honey, olive oil etc because these clean the skin in a gentle way and are mositurizing as well.
For combination skin also, there are lots of good products available in the market. You can check Biore balancing cleanser which I have reviewed on my blog.
3. Scrub: This step is very important but you don't need to do it daily. Scrubbing or exfoliation helps to remove blackheads, whiteheads and dead skin cells and gives you a healthy looking clear skin. It is very satisfying because it cleans the skin from deep down into pores. However if over-done , then it can be harsh on your skin . It results in more production of oil and hence blackheads and whiteheads. So stay limited to scrubbing only twice a week. Scrub with a gentle hand and do circular motion. Scrub everywhere on your face and neck leaving the delicate area around your eyes. And choose a scrub which is free from plastic beads and nutty woody scrubbing particles because these are harsh on the skin and cause tiny cuts on your skin so they do more harm than any good to your skin. I prefer to use my DIY scrubs which I make by using ingredients like  rice flour, gram flour, yellow corn flour and ground oats. Check these video tutorials to prepare some homemade scrubs.

4. Toner : Although everybody talks about using toners yet I can bet that no one has seen these working actually. However for a quick dose of moisture using aloevera or witch hazel based toners helps a lot as the freshly cleaned and scrubbed skin can instantly drink the moisture and look hydarated. I like to use rose water and aloevera based toners.
These are the basic four steps that you should be following in order to achieve acne-free and healthy skin. You can apply serums and moisturizers after cleansing our skin by following these steps.
