How to Add Color to Your Fall Wardrobe - Style Swap Tuesdays

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1

I am a girl who loves and lives for bright, cheery colors. No matter what the season, you will always find me rocking bright hues. Rare are those days when you will find me in black or darker colors. No offense to ladies who live frond in dark colors, but it's just me- a girl who loves her bright, getting-brighter-everyday wardrobe.

Trust me folks, wearing multiple colors together is not as hard as some of you might think. I know wearing black is effortless but once you get used to that punch of color, you will love it. Just an open mind and your confidence is required. So, how can you add that daily dose of color to your fall wardrobe without feeling overwhelmed? 1) Colored accessories - if going bold at the first attempt is not your forte, then take baby steps. Try adding color through accessories. A colorful accessory like a beret or a bright handbag, a colored scarf or even a sweep of bright eye-shadow will do the trick. You will have just that hint of color to make your everyday boring black pop. 2) Colored tights -  a colored pair of tights is another effortless way to add  color and pattern to any fall outfit, plus it keeps you warm- added bonus. Wear a printed or a brightly-colored pair of tights under your black dress/skirt and that is it, you've honed the art of adding color to your outfit.  3) Colored shoes- nobody said 'your boots always need to be either black or brown aka boring ??' I am not advising you to wear a pink fuzzy pair of boots/booties, but a red leather pair or a subtly-printed one is always doable. I have worn a pair of red leather boots without them looking jarring, check em out here. If not boots then there is always the option of pairing your favorite  heels/boots with a pair of black sweater tights for that extra warmth.  4) Colored outer- this one got to be my favorite hack to adding color to my fall wardrobe. After brightly colored berets this season jackets and coats got to be my weakness. I have coats and jackets in pretty much all colors, cuts, styles and lengths. I would any day trade a black outer with an orange or bright blue one.   Colored knits and sweaters play up any boring winter outfit as well!  5) Colored summer clothing - who says you can't wear your bright summer dresses in winter?  Now don't get too excited and pull out your strapless mini, well actually that might work- layer a turtleneck underneath the strapless dress and put on a pair of tights underneath.....voila! Wearing your summer dresses in fall is really easy (check out another summer-to-fall look HERE ), just opt for fall-friendly fabrics, which means cotton and linen are out of bounds. If your clothing sticks then just rub a sheet or two of fabric-softener on the inside of your apparel and problem solved.  Which of the aforementioned hacks is you? How to you like to play up your fall wardrobe?  Congratulations to Erica of Live Style Travel, she is the featured blogger of the week.
