How insulin levels after a meal can predict type 2 diabetes earlier

There's a huge epidemic of type 2 diabetes in the world, with about one out of two people born in the US today predicted to get diabetes in their lifetime. And yet, despite this huge problem, it's still hard to predict who will get type 2 diabetes in the future.

Currently, we're mostly using blood sugar tests to predict this. But there may be a better way, that can predict risk of type 2 diabetes much sooner. This can allow people more time to change their lifestyle, possibly avoiding getting diabetes completely.
