Huawei Honor 5X with metal unibody design and 360 degree fingerprint scanner launched along with Holly 2 Plus in India. The Honor 5x was launched in China before until very recently it was introduced in CES 2015 at a price tag of $199. It sports a full metal body and a fingerprint sensor, which honestly have become a norm these days.
Honor 5X comes loaded with a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p display and is powered by Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a [easyazon_link identifier=”B00NPSZ42I” locale=”IN” tag=”haatb-in”]MicroSD card[/easyazon_link] slot. It is pretty surprising part that the Chinese variant has higher specs compared to the Indian version. It has a latest Snapdragon 616 processor along with 3 GB ram and 32 GB internal memory.
The smartphone comes with a 13MP rear camera with F/2.0 aperture and LED flash. Also for selfie fans Honor 5X comes with a 5MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture and wide-angle lens for wider selfies. This is a dual sim device where both the sims supports 4g connectivity. Honor 5x has a 3000 mAh battery that comes with quick charge 3.0 enabling super fast charge from 0-50% in just 30 minutes.
The second generation fingerprint sensor can be used for various functions like launching apps, capture photos, and accessing notification panel apart from unlocking the device for which it takes just 0.5 seconds. It will be available in Gold, Silver and Grey color options.The pre-orders for the device starts today and the first flash sale will be held on 1st of February via Flipkart and Amazon India.
Other device lauched along with the Honor 5x is Holly 2 Plus is Huawei’s reply to the budget big battery smartphone segment. The Honor Holly 2 Plus features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This budget smartphone comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera.
Holly 2 Plus comes with 2 GB ram and 16 GB ROM which can be increased up to 128 GB via MicroSD card and is powered by a powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Mediatek processor. Honor Holly 2 Plus has a 4, 000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G LTE, 2G, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth.
Both the smartphones run EMUI 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and will be up gradable to EMUI 4.0 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphones are an attempt by Honor to expand its popularity in the online smartphone space. Both Honor 5X and Honor Holly 2 Plus will be available on Flipkart and Amazon.
