By Honeymoonblogger

Combining two top honeymoon destinations is a fantastic way to create a unique and personal honeymoon. Choosing two completely different locations, such as a city and a beach resort, gives you both adventure and relaxation so you get the most out of your romantic retreat.

Fast-paced and vibrant, Hong Kong is an exciting blend of skyscrapers and shopping, culture and cuisine. This enticing city is fast becoming a popular honeymoon destination as couples seek a cultural adventure as part of their romantic retreat. Hong Kong can be divided up into two areas, Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Hong Kong Island is considered the heart of the city, but Kowloon is also worth exploring. You can get to Kowloon by an enjoyable ferry ride and it is from here that you get the spectacular views of the Hong Kong Island skyline.

Highlights of this vibrant city include a wide range of museums including the fascinating Hong Kong heritage museum, Hong Kong Museum of art and Hong Kong Science Museum. Hidden in the network of immense skyscrapers and modernity are Chinese temples and numerous examples  of colonial era architecture which have now been declared protected monuments. The most famous of these are the Old Stanley Police Station and the Victoria Prison compound, offering a fascinating insight into colonial

Hong Kong. The shopping in Hong Kong is so good that it’s been dubbed a national pastime. Head to Central and Causeway, regarded as the most popular shopping districts, for malls and classy department stores.

After the excitement of Hong Kong, a wonderful escape from the bright lights and bustle is the Indonesian paradise of Bali. Beautiful, peaceful and famed for its ancient temples, towering volcanos and welcoming smiles this tranquil island couldn’t be further removed from fast-paced Hong Kong. Bali is often voted as one of the best honeymoon destinations in the world, and it is easy to see why with its world-class resorts, stunning beaches and dramatic landscape. This is the perfect getaway for complete relaxation.

For some the island may still struggle to escape its reputation as a backpacker haven, a way station for the world’s nomadic twenty somethings, and although this side of the island certainly still exists regarding Bali inclusively in this light is as narrow minded as saying that there is little more to Ibiza than the clubs or Amsterdam and its canals. In reality Bali is an incredibly diverse place with accommodation to suit many budgets and there is certainly affordable luxury to be had here. Properties such as the Pavilions on Sanur beach or Quinci Villas in Lombok offer a high quality of service without the bank breaking budget to go with it.

The Southern end of the island is by far the most visited and most populated which includes the communities of Kuta, Denpasar, the administrative capital, Jimbaran, Sanur

and Seminyak. If, however you want to get out and explore the more rural areas there is plenty of opportunity to find utter peace and seclusion. As mentioned Bali is famous for its temples, townships by law have to manage at least three and most homes have there only smaller domestic shrines. Bali’s most famous temples are the 9 directional temples which are scattered across the island, strategically placed to protect Bali and its people from dark forces.

Particularly popular as a place to renew marital vows Bali is certainly a romantic escape and one that is sure to live long in the memory.
