Hit me with your best makes a small detour into the world of "television" this week, by looking at season 2 of the Netflix hit show "Orange is the New Black". Despite its serial format though, the season has been described as a "13-hour movie". I'll therefore treat it as such by choosing my favorite shot from the whole season, rather than individual episodes.

One of the most compelling aspects of this season was watching Piper's growth as a person. When we first met her she was uptight and self-centered, wallowing in self-pity. As she goes along this journey of incarceration however, she has become much more relaxed and accepting of her situation. This is particularly evident in the "40 OZ of Furlough" episode. After an awkward, temporary reacquaintance with her old life, she realizes how much she has changed. This leads to my chosen shot above. It's clear that this a new Piper, slumming it on the roadside with a "40" and a greasy burger.
