Downtown Charleston offers a varied shopping experience for the tourists and locals alike. However, it is the small treasures of the sometimes hidden stores that make Charleston shine. One of those is Filigree, an innovative jewelry boutique featuring the creative wares of Heather Key Tiller. Located at 47 John Street in the fashionable Design District of historical Charleston, Filigree offers custom-designed pieces using unique accent finds as well as precious and semiprecious stones accompanied by 14-karat gold or sterling silver. All styles of necklaces, bracelets and earrings feature a signature “key” clasp and are created on-site in limited release.

According to Vogue Magazine, “Her pieces are excitingly unique and exquisitely handmade. The varied classic designs feature high quality, scintillating stones and lustrous pearls.”

Heather Key Tiller graduated from Vanderbilt University and studied jewelry design at Penland School. She began her career in 1997 as a gemstone and metal artisan. Heather sold her designs at trunk shows, farmers’ markets and eventually in 80 stores along the Southeast. An entrepreneur with a passion and drive, she took a leap to open Filigree in 2001. Ten years later, Heather is a pioneer in the market of custom jewelry in the Southeast offering original, classic, yet funky natural stone jewelry that is timeless.
