Number 90 Bar & Kitchen presents The Birthday Weekender
Number 90 Bar & Kitchen, the stunning canal-side venue in Hackney Wick, is throwing a huge four-day long party from 17th-20th March, to celebrate turning the ripe old age of two. The weekend will feature DJs, bands, performers, live art installations, food stalls and innovative cocktails. The celebrations are all free entry, and everyone’s invited.
Since opening its doors in 2014, Number 90 has quickly become recognised as one of the most popular creative hubs in the area and it will be marking its 2nd birthday with this momentous, free, Birthday Weekender. Kicking off on Thursday 17th March, the first day of festivities begins with friends, family and press launch, featuring an array of immersive entertainment to get the party started.
From well-known artists creating bespoke Number 90 masterpieces, to live music and even a special DJ set from Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay, the opening night will be a perfect taster of what’s to come over the following days.
Friday evening will see compilations from the hugely popular Late Night Tales, along with music from legendary record label Rough Trade, providing the perfect party sound track for tackling the huge birthday piñata. On the Saturday, the legendary Phonica Records will be spinning the vinyls alongside Slothboogie, whilst guests can pay a visit to the Starlight Boutique glitter camp, before bending over backwards in a huge limbo competition.
Winding down on the Sunday, guests can indulge in what is arguably one of the best roasts in Hackney, whilst relaxing to a mixture of funk, soul and reggae from Russ Ryan and DJ Scratchy. A retro record stand selling vinyls will also be set up in the bar, so music lovers can invest in some Birthday Weekend memorabilia.
For the celebrations, Number 90 will also be unveiling their stunning new terraced decking, an expansion to the current terrace, allowing the party to spill out onto the scenic canal-side. Complete with its very own bar accommodating up to 100 guests, this stand-alone area is the perfect spot to sit back and relax whilst watching the sun go down.
Number 90 will be showcasing its delicious new food offering throughout the weekend, handpicking a selection of favorite dishes from the new menu for partygoers to sample. Featuring a variety of super foods, classic dishes and burgers, the menu centres upon fresh and locally sourced ingredients with an emphasis on vegetarian, vegan dishes and divine gluten free desserts, providing the perfect healthy fuel for a night of dancing.
The new drinks menu will also be in full swing, offering an array of local and international crafts beers, innovative cocktails, unique soft drinks and healthy smoothies. Thirst will be quenched by mouth-watering cocktails made from house-infused spirits, all of which have been given a Number 90 twist. This extravagant weekend of partying is not only to celebrate Number 90’s 2nd birthday, but also to thank their brand affiliates, friends and neighbours.
