Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Illustrated Edition) by @jk_rowling

By Pamelascott

Harry Potter, along with his best friends, Ron and Hermione, is about to start his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry can't wait to get back to school after the summer holidays. (Who wouldn't if they lived with the horrible Dursley's?) But when Harry gets to Hogwarts, the atmosphere is tense. There's an escaped mass murderer on the loose, and the sinister prison guards of Azkaban have been called in to guard the school.

I've read this book at least ten times but this is my first read-through of the illustrated edition. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is when the series really starts to become something special. This book is darker than the previous two and sets in motion a series of events that will resonate across the rest of the books. As usual, I was engrossed from start to finish. The artwork in the illustrated edition is amazing and really brings the story and characters to life. My favourite moment is towards the end when Harry finds out the truth about Sirius Black and learns just how spiteful and childish Severus Snape is.
