HAELOS Played Their First NYC Show at Mercury Lounge [Photos]

Helllloo, HÆLOS. Fresh off an 11-gig SXSW (a logistical miracle in itself, given how much equipment they’re carting), the Matador-signed UK outfit descended on Mercury Lounge last night for their first-ever NYC show. The core trio of Lotti Benardout (girl vocals), Arthur Delaney (boy vocals), and Dom Goldsmith (keyboards/electronics) flared out to an impressively tight six-piece for the performance, adding guitar, drums, and extra percussion to breathe epic life into tracks from this year’s very excellent Full Circle. If you love the cosmopolitan drama of The xx and London Grammar but wish those acts shot for the moon more often, you might just have a new favorite band in HÆLOS. Simply divine.
