Greenest Economy Yet Bucks National Trend With Huge Growth THE UK’s low carbon industry grew five per cent from 2011/12 defying all trends, according to the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

The government figures show the low carbon environmental goods and services grew to £128billion in the period, while there was little movement in the rest of the economy.

The UK’s green economy is now the 6th largest in the world, with the US and number one, followed by China, Japan, India and Germany.

However, it came second only to Brazil, in terms of growth size.

It also employed just under 940,000 people in the UK, making it incredibly important in securing economic growth and helping cut unemployment rates.

A spokesperson for www.theecoexperts.co.uk said: “This is, of course, wonderful news, and we have long supported the green industry. Hopefully this news will provide the certainty and stability investors need to back the low-carbon industry and we can see further growth in this area as the years progress.”

The report went into further depth and showed alternative fuels, building technologies, and wind power were the largest sectors in terms of both global and UK low carbon environmental goods and services sales.

The Eco Experts spokesperson added: “It is a shame that these results have not been more highly publicised. This is fantastic news for the industry and the economy and we should make sure everyone knows about it.”
