green peas kachori - bengali koraishutir kochuri,matar kachori - stuffed deep fried bread with green peas.I already shared green peas kachori with dum aloo for an event and i made that years ago.Yesterday i want to try this again and also want some snacks for this climate.Had some peas in pantry and made these kachoris and had this with some leftover cabbage masala instead dum aloo.

i want to update the recipe with new pictures but i did not made dum aloo for that post.so i posting this recipe separately and i love shooting this yummy kachoris.I want to post some savory delicacies and some Indian recipes now because my past few recipes are of mostly dessert categories and this year i want to load more more indian delicacies than last year.

I bookmarked more kachori recipes which i want to try it later but afraid of more oil in the recipe and keep postponing it but this one is really exceptional and it came out so perfect.I used all purpose flour in the recipe,you can also use half wheat flour and half all purpose flour.The stuffing so flavorful with ginger and green chillies and i had it as it is.

While am making this,rewind some memories ,3 years back we ,bloggers had an event which is called SNC which was the most wonderful event i ever participated.we had a big big competition of posting the recipe and thats made us more more active during that days and we were so eager to saw the recipe presentation from others.

That time i made the recipe in rush but this time i made it perfect and i got perfect flaky texture.For that you have to do make a stiff dough like we make for pooris and this will make the kachoris more crisp and flaky.

you can also add chaat masala to give more extra flavor but the original recipe does not requires it.

stuffed deep fried bread with fresh green peas and spices

Ingredients
  • green peas - 1 cup
  • all purpose flour/maida - 1 cup
  • cumin powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • ginger - 1/4 inch piece
  • green chillies - 2 to 3 nos
  • asafoetida - a pinch
  • oil - for frying
  • salt - to taste
Instructions
  1. Take maida in a bowl with enough salt and 2 teaspoons of oil.Make a stiff dough with enough water and allow it to rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile grind green peas,ginger and green chillies in the blender into a coarse paste.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai and add the asafoetida,cumin powder to it and roast it well.
  4. Now add the paste and cook till it came like a dough.Cook the paste in low flame as it is easily burn at the bottom.
  5. Cool the filling for few minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into equal medium sized balls as we make for pooris.Divide the filling too.
  7. Roll one of the dough balls into a thick disc and place the filling in the centre.Fold the edges and seal it carefully.
  8. Roll it again into a disc and make gentle rolling without making the filling oozes out.
  9. Heat the oil in kadai for deep frying and lower the flame once it get hot.
  10. Deep fry them in low flame till both sides are browned.
  11. serve it with dum aloo or with any other dips.
