Verdict on Godzilla x Kong The New Empire

Godzilla x Kong The New Empire is the latest big action sequel pitting the Titans in combat. It follows Kong dealing with his loneliness reflecting on Jia being the last of her people. However, a new discovery creates tension between the Titans as the search in the Hollow Earth uncovers more mysterious truths.

This continues to build the larger concept of titans around the world. Even if this movie feels a lot more like a Kong sequel than a team-up movie. His journey is the most interesting of any of the monsterverse and the reflection of the struggles Jia is going through proves being the last of one’s kind can take lasting damage on someone. Godzilla is more just destroying stuff for what feels more like filler than anything else. However, once everybody gets together we have the big titan fights like we would expect. In the end, this does grow the world, strengthens the unusual bond between the pair and gives us fun human characters we want to return to.

Final ThoughtsGodzilla x Kong The New Empire is the big monster-mashing madness you have come to expect.
