Glance and US Carriers Might Bring Ads to Your Galaxy Phone Lock Screen Soon

Glance works to bring advertisements to the Android smartphone lock screen throughout the United States, and Samsung Galaxy devices may not be excluded. According to rumors, Glance might launch its platform in partnerships with US cellular network operators in the next two months.

Glance, a subsidiary of the Inmobi Group, provides media, news, advertisements, and casual games on the Android mobile lock screen, especially in the Asian market where companies have partnered with OEM smartphones, including Samsung.

However, in the United States, a glimpse of a glance aims to collaborate with operators rather than the device maker. Network operators in the US have a much stronger influence on cellular markets than elsewhere, and their views seem to aim to serve their content to the Android lock screen through partner operators.

According to a recent report that quotes anonymous sources (through Techcrunch), Glance intends that the advertising service is aired for the Android lock screen “within two months.” However, there is no brand or smartphone operator mentioned.

Content and advertisements delivered are tailored to the user’s interests. And maybe, Android smartphone users will have an option to choose out of service and use a standard Android or Samsung One Lock screen instead.

However, if at first glance is activated by default, many customers are expected to make the advertising-based lock screen turned on and not to bother changing their settings.

In essence, this will expose millions of Android smartphone users in the United States to a new ad/content distribution network that is almost everywhere.
