Looking for a little cash to help fund your next adventure? Want to get into better shape to take on that challenge? If you answered yes to those questions, I have some great news for you because the GearJunkie and NordicTrack are here to help.
The two organizations have joined forces to launch the first ever GearJunkie Adventure Grant which will be awarded to one lucky winner looking to accomplish something big and adventurous this year. To help them do that, the grant will provide the winner with $5000 cash and their choice of any current NordicTrack trainer to help them prepare for the challenge.
"The Adventure Grant will facilitate a dream trip for one of our readers," said GearJunkie founder Stephen Regenold. "I am psyched to launch the program, and beyond just the winner I hope that it can motivate everyone to think bigger this year around the outdoors and adventure."
U.S. citizens 21 years or older are eligible for the GearJunkie Adventure Grant with applications being accepted now. To apply, all you have to do is fill out a form upload a photo of yourself. The application includes a short essay asking entrants to share their dream trip with a little background on what this adventure means to them and why it is so important. Applications will be accepted through March 15, 2019 with judges selecting eight finalists. GearJunkie readers will then be allowed to vote for their favorite with a winner being announced on April 1.
This is apparently the first of a series of grants to come from the GearJunkie, with possibilities for future opportunities coming down the line. If you've been planning a big adventure for some time now, but simply lacked the funds to help you get your expedition, climb, ride, trek, or paddle off the ground, perhaps the GJ team and audience can help. Who knows, this just might be the first step towards a much more adventurous life.
