Gal Gadot Hints That Brett Ratner Was Fired From The Sequel To “Wonder Woman”

Premiere Of Warner Bros. Pictures' 'Justice League'

It looks like Brett Ratner might have recently found himself out of a job from all of the accusations that he’s a rapey asshole. The people behind the Wonder Woman movie apparently have booked Brett a one-way ticket on Diana’s invisible jet and sent him far away from the sequel.

Last week it was rumored Gal Gadot pulled an “Either he goes or I go” after six women spoke to The Los Angeles Times and accused Brett Ratner of varying degrees of sexual misconduct. Brett Ratner’s production company, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, produced Wonder Woman. Gal was reportedly refusing to return as Wonder Woman unless Warner Bros. bought RatPac-Dune Entertainment out of their deal. A rep for Warner Bros. claimed that information was “false.” Warner Bros. might have been telling the truth, but a shady version of the truth.

Gal was asked about the ultimatum rumor during an appearance on Today to promote Justice League this morning. She let it slip that the rumors are true and Brett got walking papers, but not only because of her.

“So, at the end of the day, a lot has been written about my views and the way that I feel, and everyone knows the way that I feel because I’m not hiding anything. But the truth is, there’s so many people involved in making this movie – it’s not just me – and they all echoed the same sentiments. Everyone knew what was the right thing to do. But there was nothing for me to actually come and say because [the decision] was already done before this article came out.”

Shortly after the Times published their story about Brett, a source told Entertainment Weekly that Warner Bros. was planning on severing ties with him. Brett padded his own landing by releasing a statement saying he was “stepping away” from Warner Bros. projects for a while.

Gal’s explanation of what happened is 100% less badass than what I pictured had happened. I pictured that she offered Brett a generous severance package of a kick in the ass as he bumbled out the exit door.

Here’s some more of Gal at the Hollywood premiere of Justice League on Monday night.
