"On Sunday July 5, a report on Ghislaine Maxwell during Fox News Channel's 'America's News HQ' mistakenly eliminated President Donald Trump from a photo alongside Melania Knauss, Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell," said a spokesperson. word of the network.

Fox News spokesperson added, "We regret the error."

Maxwell was indicted by federal prosecutors in New York on Thursday for his alleged role in the recruitment and sexual exploitation of underage girls in a criminal enterprise that has been going on for years.

Trump's allies have forged ties between former Democratic President Bill Clinton and Epstein by sometimes sharing old photos in which they both appear, while downplaying the photos showing Trump and Epstein together. A Clinton spokesperson said in 2019 that the former president knew "nothing of the terrible crimes" committed by the convicted pedophile.

Fox News' blatant reframing of the photo has drawn criticism and garnered unflattering media coverage for the conservative cable network. The photograph was released during a segment on Maxwell indicted by federal prosecutors.

It is not the first time in recent weeks that Fox News has acknowledged a major error related to the photos accompanying the reports. In mid-June, Fox News expressed regret after posting digitally altered and misleading images of the "CHOP" demonstration in Seattle.
