About a month after stepping down as U.S. secretary of education, Arne Duncan has signed with CAA in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

During his seven-year tenure (one of the longest in President Barack Obama’s Cabinet and the longest-serving education secretary in American history), Duncan’s accomplishments included implementing the stimulus act’s $100 billion education fund, which saved or created approximately 275,000 jobs*, increased Pell Grants and established reform programs such as Race to the Top and Investing in Innovation.

CAA is expected to negotiate book and speaking deals and identify new business opportunities for Duncan, who served as CEO of Chicago Public Schools before being appointed to Obama’s administration in January 2009.

*So CAA is touting that statistic in their promotion of Arne? That works out to $363,636 spent per “creating” or “saving” a job (if you even believe that number is accurate to begin with). Only in government and liberal la-la-land could one believe that number is something to be proud of.
