Beatrix Potter was known to visit Storrs Hall in its heyday of private ownership, conveniently located just a stone's throw from Hill Top, Potter's wisteria-clad 17 th century farmhouse. Guests can enjoy a visit to this restored farmhouse and cottage garden that provided the inspiration for many of her books, alongside nearby Hawkshead Village, with its chocolate-box charm and Beatrix Potter Gallery complete with original illustrations. Families will delight in a visit to The World of Beatrix Potter, just five miles from the hall, featuring storybook favourites such as the Peter Rabbit Garden and Jemima Puddle-duck's Woodland Glade.

After a long day of exploring, the comfort of Storrs Hall awaits, effortlessly blending 18th century history with modern luxury. There are 30 rooms in the Georgian Mansion house, while the new one-bedroom converted Boathouse provides a peaceful lakeside retreat in a secluded woodland location. The Boathouse comes complete with a steam room, private hot-tub, fire-pit and alfresco dining, as well as spectacular views from the bedroom over Windermere, making it perfect for a cosy weekend break.
