Five Pairs of Sunglasses Every Girl Should Own

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1
When it comes to trends, sunglasses shapes, and brands go in and out of fashion just as a pair of denim's silhouette and washes. Similarly, as a few shades of denim like indigo and dark blue never roll out of fashion, there are a few shades and shapes of sunglasses that one should own in their arsenal as their trusted pairs. While I highly recommend trying out the faddish pairs ( the fourth one on my list ), perhaps at a more affordable price point, these are the four top pairs you should definitely consider splurging on.
I have shortlisted the top five pairs one must own in their adulthood, but based on the shape of your face, the most important determinant while shopping for sunglasses, you should pick out the most flattering one.

THE CLASSIC RAY BAN AVIATOR  The must-have pair - Ray Ban Aviators tops the list. Thanks to Tom Cruise for making these a timeless fad. Aviators are a universally flattering sunglass shape. I eased into this trend with a pair of black aviators but then I upgraded to a blue with gold rim and now these rimless ones. I would highly recommend investing in one, coz aviators will never go out of style.  five sunglasses you need to own before 35, sunglasses for different face shapes, ray ban, how to wear skinny sunglasses, cateye sunglasses, myriad musings
THE EDGY PAIR
Another must-have is a pair of edgy sunglasses. Think girls-gone-wild, I-don't-care vibe. I found my edgy-love in these studded pairs of almost aviators, but a slightly larger frame. I had spotted the designer $$$ version on a few celebrities, but good luck befell and I found the affordable equivalent. This one is just my pick, but you could go for statement-making frames. For instance, people with round and oval faces could try a pair of large rectangle or square pair of sunglasses and ones with square and heart shape faces could try circular/oval pairs. Look for details like studs, flowers, crystals, glitters, anything that makes it unique and your go-to pair on those ready-in-five-minute  days.  five sunglasses you need to own before 35, sunglasses for different face shapes, ray ban, how to wear skinny sunglasses, cateye sunglasses, myriad musings
THE MIRRORED LENSES
Talk to me about this one, and I could go on bragging about my love for these. With the multitudinous color options and shapes available out there, there is one, maybe two or maybe more for everyone. I found my love in these Fendi yellowish-green mirrored glasses. What makes it unique is the wide contrasting temple. The large winged shape makes this ideal for round and oval face shapes.  five sunglasses you need to own before 35, sunglasses for different face shapes, ray ban, how to wear skinny sunglasses, cateye sunglasses, myriad musings
THE TRENDY PAIR  Definitely not a rip-off, for mere $20 I bought my now-trending skinny cat eye sunglasses. Think cat eye sunglasses going on a keto-diet ( no carbs allowed, only protein welcome ), getting a whole new transformation. Reminiscent of MIB ( men in black ) skinny cat eye sunglasses are a huge trend and after rigorous hunting, I finally found mine. Another universally flattering sunglass trend, everyone must try a pair of skinny cat eye sunglasses.  five sunglasses you need to own before 35, sunglasses for different face shapes, ray ban, how to wear skinny sunglasses, cateye sunglasses, myriad musings
THE DESIGNER PAIR  You can have ten $25 pairs of sunglasses, but for the business meetings and social gatherings where first impressions are the last impressions- a designer pair is a must! No shape and color restriction, but one that fits right and is flattering in all respect should be targeted. I wouldn't recommend shopping for these online. Head out to your nearest departmental store and give the sunglasses a try before you pull the trigger. A lot of places don't accept returns on sunglasses, so you'd rather spend an hour extra driving to the store than sit on a designer pair of sunglasses that you don't like.  five sunglasses you need to own before 35, sunglasses for different face shapes, ray ban, how to wear skinny sunglasses, cateye sunglasses, myriad musings
SUNGLASSES CARE TIPS  No matter how much the sunglasses cost, every pair deserves the same TLC.
  • Always stow your sunglasses in the case it came in. This will prevent any unwanted scratches.
  • Never leave your sunglasses in the car. Too much heat/cold can cause the frame to expand, thereby eventually distorting them.
  • Never place your expensive sunglasses on your head. Your sunglasses are an eye accessory and not a hair accessory. There are gazillion options for holding your hair back, so please leave the sunglasses alone.
  • For pairs that don't have cases, or you've misplaced em, store them in display cases, like this one. Never leave em exposed to dust, this also causes scratches.
  • Always use a sunglass cleaning spray and a natural fabric wipe to clean your sunglasses. Make it a habit to clean your sunglasses biweekly. After your phone, your sunglasses carry the most allergens and bacteria.
