First Look: Bobbi Brown’s KBeauty Look + Face & Bronzing Duo Swatches

By Beautifulbuns

Aloha! I’m feeling particularly motivated and inspired this long weekend, hence the massive churn out of blog post (that, and I’m feeling guilty on sitting on these for such a long time). A while back, I attended Bobbi Brown’s workshop on how they interpret the Korean Beauty trend, and I must say, they’re pretty on point!

After applying the base (foundation), he actually starts with the cheeks – so that he knows how much eye makeup to apply after. Wanna know the proper way to apply cream blusher? Use a finger (or brush) to swirl the pot and pick up the colour, and apply it from the apples of the cheek outwards. In this way, you get the most color intensity on the apples (which is where you want the color to concentrate on). Blend it out slowly with either a brush or your fingertips.

And voila! You have perfectly rosy, radiant cheeks that exude a healthy glow!

Moving on to the brows – using Mahogany shade of Bobbi Brown’s eyeshadow range

One of the most popular and best-selling shades of Bobbi Brown’s range – Taupe. The light hazelnut brown gives very subtle definition and depth to the eye sockets. I’m SO tempted to get it now. Be still, my beating heart (and anxious wallet).

And there – can you see how subtle it is? Another makeup tip dispensed was to use the same cream cheek blusher as your lip color (well, Bobbi Brown’s is a milt-usage product), so that there’s more consistency in your overall look.

Next up was the eyeliner – compared with last  year’s intense eyeliner trend where the Kpop stars piled it on (oops, I’m so totally guilty of doing that still), this year is all about a more natural finish and blending with brown eyeshadows. I saw so many Korean girls on the subway pulling this look off when I was there earlier this year – I love!

Look at how the eyeliner is extended just ever so slightly and joined with the bottom line, and also so carefully and subtly blending with the two shades of eyeshadows (Taupe and Mahogany (which was used as both the brow color and eyeshadow colour)). I can’t wait to try this look out!

Besides the Kbeauty tutorial, this event was also to showcase their new collection – aren’t they gorgeous?!

Note that my swatches are actually done with several layers so that the color can be seen – they’re not that intense (in case you’re worried about coming out looking too draggy).

What I’m most excited about is actually the eyeshadow palette. I’m a HUGE fan of their eyeshadow palettes. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to swatch them cos I didn’t wanna soil the pristine condition (that, plus I didn’t wanna make the staff delay their knockoff timings even further. I’d taken up enough time with my tomfoolery doing all the swatches heh). Oh well. In the meantime, feast your eyes :D

Unfortunately, I don’t have any further information regarding the price and date availability, but once I do, I’ll be sure to update y’all :)
