Finding Footwear... for Men

By Modeofstyle @modeofstyle

Shoe shopping doesn’t sound quite as much fun for men as it does for most women. Generally, the process entails knowing what he wants, going to get it and reporting mission accomplished. My boyfriend and I was recently in town to try and find some new shoes that would be appropriate for both work and play, and I think I probably thought it was more fun than he did...
Anyway, whether it's work boots, trainers or a smart shoe for the office, a great fit is the most important part of shoe selection. One way of going about to find the perfect fit when looking for footwear is to make a visit to an upper-end shoe store where an experienced salesperson will take the time to measure both the length and width of the foot. After the initial measurement, it would be a good idea to take a brief walk around the store or simply flex the feet and request a re-measurement. Feet occasionally change slightly in length or width with activity. Men’s boots should fit well just as women's boots, if you are going to wear them all day long and especially if you walk around a lot.

We didn't go to any shoe measurer because my boyfriend knows his size. So, we set out for finding the perfect shoe. My boyfriend does not need a very heavy work boot but for those who do, it is vital to carefully check craftsmanship and certifications carefully. Shoes and boots are made for the purpose of protecting feet and it is important to be confident that he shoes will last you a long time.Even though we were not sure what shoe we were looking for, it is always beneficial to try on several different brands and styles of men’s shoes. A good idea is to spend some time walking or bouncing on the toes in each shoe to truly feel what life in the shoes would be like. It is important to experiment with different sizes of a particular shoe. Toes should never touch the end of the shoe or boot, nor should the toes feel cramped in any way, even during the activity of bouncing slightly on the balls of the feet. Even if you might feel a bit silly doing this it is quite important since men usually keep their shoes a longer time then women does.
