I have recently signed up to be on the Review Team for author, Judith Keim. The perk to that is title is that I have the opportunity to read her books in advance of their release day! YAY for me!! Today’s book, Finding Family, is the first book I received to review as part of that Review Team!
I’ll be honest – this is the first book I have read that was written by Judith Keim, and I truly found it to be an excellent read. While Finding Family is the fourth (and sadly final) book in the Salty Key Inn series, it works really well as a stand alone. I felt that the characters were very authentic and I could relate to each one of them.
Sheena, Darcy, and Regan are the Sullivan sisters. Sheena a strong wife and mother who feels it’s her job to take care of everyone, while Darcy is a smart, but sassy woman who has a bad habit of picking the wrong men for her life. Finally, there’s Regan who is very beautiful but sadly, she’s completely insecure about her looks and her brains. Living together and struggling, the Sullivan sisters have a year to complete their Uncle Gavin’s challenge of turning his rundown Florida hotel into a profitable venture in order to inherit his estate.
Judith Keim bringing the family members together takes you on a journey of the restoration of the hotel and showing the difference of the sisters personalities and how they grow closer together during this time.
Are they able to meet their challenge? I do not want to spoil it, you have to read for yourself. I’m sure you will fall in love with Ms. Keim’s books. I did, and wish there was a fifth book in the Salty Key Inn series. Ms. Keim has a great writing style that can cause readers to feel like they are part of the story because she is so descriptive with her writing.
Judith Keim was born and raised in Elmira, New York, and now makes her home in Idaho with her husband and their two dachshunds, Winston and Wally, and other members of her family.
Growing up, books were always present being read, ready to go back to the library, or about to be discovered. Information from the books was shared in general conversation, giving all of us in the family a wealth of knowledge and a lot of imagination. Perhaps that is why I was drawn to the idea of writing stories early on. I particularly love to write novels about women who face unexpected challenges and meet them with strength.
A hybrid author who both has a publisher and self-publishes, Ms. Keim writes heart-warming stories of strong women who face challenges and find love and happiness along the way. Her books are based, in part, on many of the places she’s lived or visited and on the interesting people she’s met, creating believable characters and realistic settings her many, loyal readers love.
