With the July 23rd release of their album Hexagon just weeks away, Chicago-based quartet Filligar is taking no time to rest before starting work on their next album. Written and recorded in San Diego during a day off from tour, the quartet today gives us a glimpse at that follow up with the single “Photos of Madrid”. Straying from their usual punchy style, this song’s sweet melody emphasizes Casey Gibson on the piano, the keys setting the pace, ringing like church bells. This, along with the hypnotic back and forth played between bassist Teddy Mathis, drummer Pete Mathis, and their vocalist/brother Johnny, creates a precise yet attention-grabbing track that showcases their 10+ years of experience together.

Be sure to catch Hexagon when it comes out on July 23 along with any other tracks they might surprise us with in the mean time, seeing as these guys are music making machines.
