At its heart, Ashley's story reminds moms that there's no way to be perfect - but many ways to be great.Thoughts: Right from the first few pages, I literally was laughing out loud while reading this novel as it wasn't just a book to read for this month but gave me such a great escape of the chaos that surrounds me as a work at home Mom. You don't feel alone at all when you read this book and I know that many of us who are working from home or being a stay at home Mom truly feel alone at times. Bunmi does such a great job at creating and crafting what we all really think of as being a Mom, what our expectations are and what reality is. Her fictional character speaks to all of us.
One thought that really resonated me was when Ashely was talking about being a parent is truly a 24/7 job. We don't get breaks as a stay at home parent. Our spouses can come home at after work, take their shoes off and relax for a few minutes. We don't get that as we often juggle chores of laundry, cleaning, picking up, organizing, making sure the kids homework is done, bath time, cooking dinner/breakfast/lunch, grocery shopping, organizing play dates or various activities for our kids... and somehow on a given day make about 5 minutes for ourselves.
