Fans Pay Respect To Aretha Franklin Outside Detroit Church
Fans have been gathering outside of New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit to pay their respect to the Queen of Soul.

New Bethel is the church Aretha Franklin’s father, the late C.L. Franklin pastored from 1942 until his death in 1979.

The funeral for Franklin will be held at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit.  According to reports the funeral will be for close family and friends.  Franklin’s body will lie in repose at the Charles H. Wright Museum for African American History. The viewing will be open to the public. There is also a musical tribute in the works for the late singer, but no word yet on venue or date and time.

Aretha Franklin passed away on Thursday at the age of 76 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
