Famy Set to Release New Album, We Fam Econo, in September [stream]

West London boys, FAMY, have created a mystical pop sound big enough to wander inside your brain and set up camp. With a range of life experiences that include all attending school in the south of France, FAMY’s guitar based pop mixes with tinges of folk to create expansive music that sweeps over you in waves. Another band with WU LYF connections, you can hear the influence, namely in the scope and pseudo-religious essence of their music. Their latest single, “Ava”, will be the culminating track of their debut album, We Fam Econo, and fittingly so. Echoing in every direction, “Ava” intertwines a choir of soaring, vocals nearly drowned in reverb with the softer sounds of ukelele, organ and guitar in a rise of burning yet bated urgency. It’s haunting in a pleasant and memorable way that will keep you in circle of repeated listens in search of the song’s untold, greater meaning.  Recorded over 10 summer days in a Welsh chapel, We Fam Econo, will be released in September on Transgressive Records.
