Empty Country, the solo project of Cymbals Eat Guitars lead singer-songwriter Joseph D’Agostino, has shared ‘Ultrasound’. The song will appear on a debut album to be released on Tiny Engines early next year.

Written about Joseph’s wife Rachel’s experiences while waiting for a biopsy report after an ultrasound found something suspicious (her sister has battled stage 4 breast cancer in the past), the song kicks off with Built to Spill-meets-Trail of Dead riffs and slightly distorted vocals as Joseph makes it clear ‘I can never leave you darling’ and ‘I want to take this weight off the Earth’. Rachel sings the high harmony on the track, while Charles Bissell of The Wrens guests on low harmony.
