Echolocation in marine mammals

Numerous marine mammals use echolocation to investigate and discover their environment. Echolocation is a technique used not only by marine animals but land mammals such as bats. It is a complex technique in which species emit calls into their environment and listen to the echoes that bounce back from various objects. This then allows the species to understand their surroundings and navigate and forage within their habitat.
