Downton Abbey Jewelry Recap: Not Even Antique Jewelry Can Console Us

We can’t even wrap our minds around last night’s episode still. One moment Sybil is bringing new life into Downton and hours later loses her own thanks to her pig headed doctor (and her dad’s insistence on not offending Sir Malpractice). It was completely heart wrenching to watch Cora, Mary and Tom plead with a siezing Sybil to live while the medical professionals stood idly by. Horrible. No amount of Thomas’ horology-based passes at Jimmy the Hot Footman can console us. No kitchen love triangle between aforementioned Jimmy, Ivy and Alfred helps. Nor does the promise of Bates’ tortuously boring jail storyline wrapping up.
